Course Overview

Add to that entrepreneurialism and a rigorous academic education, and our journalism graduates have the best chance of success in a tough market. Three weeks’ works experience form a vital part of this journalism degree, and we will help you get your work published and build your CV.

Court visits are integral on this journalism degree, as are interview techniques, which are developed during live newsday simulations, including an annual police press conference. Mobile journalism or ‘mojo’ is now a key element of the course with cutting edge workshops on smartphone reporting and production.

You will learn how to find, write, edit and produce news and features for the print media, radio, television and the internet. To support this, you will learn about media law and ethics, plus the machinery of government, and learn how to apply this knowledge to your own journalism.

Teaching

Our Journalism degree will be taught through lectures, seminars, practical workshops and simulations.
