Course Overview

We think experiential learning is so important that we offer practical training in essential lawyering skills beginning in your first year with our highly respected Legal Profession Program. You will receive training in important skills, such as accessing and understanding legal authority and effectively communicating legal analysis. As a result, you will have the chance to quickly develop the strong professional capabilities necessary to be an effective and efficient attorney.

J.D. Programs

Traditional J.D. Program :
Your legal training in the Traditional J.D. Program will include everything from gaining real-world experience through our Externship Program or Law Clinic to acquiring the legal research and writing skills used in the practice of law today in our highly regarded legal writing program. Experience a supportive environment that makes this a special place to get your legal education.

Two-Year J.D. Program :

Our Two-Year J.D. Program allows you to save time and money by finishing law school sooner. You will experience the same courses and opportunities offered in the Traditional J.D. Program, but you will be able to complete your degree in two years by taking classes in the summer. The smaller summer class also allows you to get more individualized attention during your time here.

Entry Requirement 

Admission Requirements:

Applicants to the University of Dayton Doctor of Physical Therapy program are expected to meet all of the following minimum requirements:

  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA across all schools attended.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA for all general prerequisite courses.
  • Completion of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university prior to the start of the DPT program.
  • Grade of C or better in all prerequisite courses. Grades of C- or lower will not be accepted.
  • Minimum of 64-semester credits and four or more prerequisite science courses with labs must be completed at the time of application.
  • Completion of all prerequisite science courses must be within the past ten years. Science coursework that is older than 10 years will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
  • Advanced Placement (AP) and College Level Examination Program (CLEP) credit will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. For consideration, CLEP and AP credit must be indicated on a college transcript with the course number for which credit was received.

Academic Requirements:

For consideration applicants applying under Early Assurance must meet or exceed the following:

  • Minimum 3.4 cumulative GPA across all schools attended.
  • Minimum 3.4 GPA for all prerequisite science courses.
  • Minimum Official GRE Composite Score of 300 or higher and an Analytical Writing Score of 4 or higher.
  • Completion of Early Assurance school-specific questions.
