Course Overview

Improving healthcare delivery, which includes evaluation, planning and service delivery; Health protection, which includes responses to infectious diseases and other hazards. The programme will cover topics such as emergency medicine, disaster management, community health, anthropology, and sociology of health and illness.

Specifically designed for healthcare practitioners, our programme is suited for doctors, researchers, nurses, nutritionists, other allied health professionals, safety and health officers, as well as anyone with a strong interest in developing a critical understanding of the key issues within health and medicine, health policy and health planning.

CAREERS PROSPECTS

Graduates of this programme will be able to work as lecturers, researchers, programme managers in the public health/global health field.

Entry Requirement 

Course Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree (Level 6 MQF) in the relevant field with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 or equivalent, as accepted by the University Senate; OR Bachelor’s degree (Level 6 MQF) or equivalent not meeting CGPA 2.50 in the relevant field can be accepted subject to a minimum of 5 years working experience in a relevant field; OR any other equivalent qualifications (Level 6 MQF) recognized by the Malaysian Government / University Senate; AND

English Language Requirements:

  • For Malaysian Students: Malaysian University English Test (MUET) with minimum Band 4.
  • For International Students: Test of English as Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a minimum score of 550 (written) or 80 (internet); OR International Language Testing System (IELTS) minimum score of 6.0; OR equivalent.
