Students choose a primary concentration from a host department within the College of Engineering, Design, and Computing. The primary concentration is complemented by a secondary concentration in engineering or from any CU Denver school/college.
Entry Requirement
Degree Requirements:
The coursework in the primary and secondary areas must consist of ten courses—students must take at least five courses in his/her primary area of concentration and at least three courses in a secondary area of concentration. Other courses may be recommended by the student’s advisor.
Research spanning two or more of the five college departments is strongly encouraged and is a major strength of the program.
Admission Requirements:
Application fee – $50 domestic; $75 international
Statement of purpose – must be an original essay submitted with the application. Scanned copies will not be accepted for submission.
Resume – must be submitted with the application
Bioengineering applicants must complete essay questions and an application background survey.
Official transcripts – we require one official copy of each previous transcript.
Letters of recommendation – three are required (two for civil engineering); a 4th is optional
Official GRE scores – the college has temporarily suspended the evaluation of GRE scores for admission decisions through the 2022 application cycle. If choosing to submit, send scores officially through ETS using code #4875. A preferred minimum score of 300+.
NOTE: Written application materials submitted are scanned for plagiarism and are added to a local database used for plagiarism detection.
