Course Overview
Nowadays, the Oil and Gas Industry is growing at a rapid pace globally; graduates from this faculty are expected to join the industry as administrators or managers in the field of science, mineral resources, and related areas. Opportunities also exist in support areas, including the general economy, international marketing, and international business. Graduates in this field can work with either, local or international Oil and Gas corporations as negotiators, brokers, and advisors.

Pass, with a minimum CGPA of 2.0
STPM
Minimum 2 principals (C) (CGPA 2.0) in 2 subjects and pass in Mathematics and English at SPM Level
A-Level
Minimum 2 principals (E)
UEC
Minimum 5 credits (B6) and pass (C8) in Mathematics and English
National Matriculation
Minimum CGPA of 2.0
International Baccalaureate (IB)
Minimum score of 26 points in 6 subjects
Canadian Pre-U
Minimum average of 60% in 6 subjects
AUSMAT/HSC/ SACE/TEE/WACE
Minimum average of 60% in 5 subjects
Other qualifications deemed equivalent to STPM/A-Level by Malaysian Qualifications Agency
Minimum overall average of 60%
Diploma (business-related)
Minimum CGPA of 2.0
Other equivalent qualifications

English Language Requirements:
Local Students
Minimum B+ in the English Language subject at SPM or Minimum A2 in UEC level or Minimum C in SPM English Language 1119/ O Level English/ IGCSE or MUET Band 3. If English language requirements are not met, applicants will be required to take the Basic English and English Foundation for in-sessional academic enhancement concurrently with the programme.
Applicants who have an academic qualification from a higher learning institution that uses the English Language as a medium of instruction can be granted an exemption from the University English requirements and MQA requirement.
International Students
- IELTS minimum Band 5.5
- TOEFL (Internet-based) minimum 46
- Cambridge English Qualification and Test minimum score of 160
- Pearson Test of English minimum score 51
- MUET minimum Band 3
International applicants who do not meet the respective academic programme’s English Language Requirements will need to improve their proficiency by enrolling on the English for Tertiary Education programme (R/KJP/00920-00929).
Placement into the various levels of English for Tertiary Education programme depends on the English Language qualification students have at the point of admission and/or the outcome of the English Placement Test.
The applicants who have met the respective academic programme’s English Language Requirement may be advised by Faculty to improve their proficiency by undertaking additional English proficiency courses.
