Course Overview

This knowledge and principles are built on combinations of statistical and computing in sustainability with lifelong learning.

Essentially, this programme addresses the increasing demand for graduates who possess strong analytical skills, hands-on ICT skills as well as strategic management which can be deployed to achieve success metrics related to yield management and revenue generation from the domestic and international perspectives. Globally, Data Scientists and Big Data Specialists are in demand now and in the future and there are tremendous job opportunities in various areas of this field.

Entry Requirement 

Academic Requirements:

UCSI Foundation year

CGPA of 2.0, and credit (C) in Additional Mathematics or credit (C) in Mathematics and one of the Science, Technology or Engineering subjects at SPM level.

STPM

(Science stream) CGPA of 2.0 and Credit (C ) in Mathematics and one Science/ICT
(Non-science stream) CGPA of 2.0 and Credit (C ) in Additional Mathematics or Mathematics and STEM subject at SPM/O level

A-Level

(Science stream) CGPA of 2.0 and Credit (C ) in Mathematics and one Science/ICT
(Non-science stream) CGPA of 2.0 and Credit (C ) in Additional Mathematics or Mathematics and STEM subject at SPM/O level

UEC

5 credits (B6), including Additional Mathematics

National Matriculation

CGPA of 2.0, and credit (C) in Additional Mathematics or credit (C) in Mathematics and one of the Science, Technology or Engineering subjects at SPM level.

International Baccalaureate (IB)

Minimum score of 26 points in 6 subjects, inclusive minimum Credit (C) in Additional Mathematics at SPM/O-Level/equivalent

Canadian Pre-U

Minimum average of 60% in 6 subjects, inclusive of minimum 60% score in Mathematics and minimum Credit (C) in Additional Mathematics at SPM/O-Level/equivalent

AUSMAT/HSC/SACE/TEE/WACE/SAM

Minimum average of 60% in 5 subjects, inclusive of minimum 60% score in Mathematics and minimum Credit (C) in Additional Mathematics at SPM/O-Level/equivalent

Australian Year 12

Credit (C ) in Mathematics and Science subject

Other qualifications deemed equivalent to STPM/A-Level by Malaysian Qualifications Agency

Minimum overall average of 60%, inclusive of minimum 60% score in Additional Mathematics

Diploma programs (Computing and ICT-related diploma)

CGPA 2.5

English Language Requirements:

For Local Students

Minimum B+ in the English Language subject at SPM or Minimum A2 in UEC level or Minimum C in SPM English Language 1119/ O Level English/ IGCSE or MUET Band 3.

In the event that the English Language Requirements are not met, applicants will be required to take Basic English and English Foundation for in-sessional academic enhancement concurrently with the undergraduate programme.

For International Students

Minimum English language competency requirements are as follows: IELTS 5.0 or equivalent TOEFL PBT (440) or TOEFL IBT (42) or PTE (Pearson Test of English) (47) or MUET (Malaysian University English Test) (Band 3) or Cambridge English Qualifications and Tests (154).
