Course Overview

Fascinated by society and the social behavior of groups? Want to learn how to use your knowledge to help people—like at-risk youth and the elderly—and bring about social change? You can make a difference when you major in sociology, criminal justice, or pursue your graduate studies in crime and justice studies at Suffolk University. Our ideal location in downtown Boston makes it easy to conduct valuable first-hand research in the city's many distinct neighborhoods and communities.

It covers everything from the analysis of short contacts between anonymous individuals to the study of global social processes. Often, sociologists are driven to understand and improve the lives of others.

At Suffolk, you can pursue a major in sociology or criminal justice. The Sociology and Criminal Justice Department is home to the Center for Women’s Health and Human Rights. You can partner with the faculty experts at these resources to conduct important research and fight for positive change in your world.
