Entry Requirement 

Admission Requirements

For admission to the post-professional online occupational therapy doctorate program, all applicants must have an OT bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a cumulative 3.0 GPA. In addition, applicants must provide the following:*

  • Graduate application form opens in a new window
  • Valid occupational therapy license
  • Official transcripts
  • Initial certification as an occupational therapist from NBCOT
  • One year or more of relevant occupational therapy experience post-graduation
  • Resume
  • A letter of intent (2-4 pages) providing a description of why the applicant has chosen the program and how the program aligns with the applicant’s intended career goals
  • Three letters of reference
    • Two from references who can attest to the applicant’s ability to be successful in doctoral-level academic work (i.e. a former faculty member, academic adviser or employer)
    • One from a reference who can attest to the quality of the applicant’s professional work

*Virtual and face-to-face interviews will be conducted to identify the goodness of fit of the program for the applicant. Applicants whose native language is not English must provide proof of English language proficiency.
