DIDI Project Design Space sets itself apart from other innovation programs by offering student teams the rare opportunity to work on real design projects for actual clients, including government bodies, corporates, and non-profits.
To date, students have completed design challenges for entities such as Adidas, Alserkal Avenue, Dubai Festival City Mall, Dubai Holding, Emirates Marine Environmental Group, Emirates Nature-WWF, IBM, Landmark Group, LEGO Middle East, Nike, RAKBANK, Splash, The Dubai Mall, and Expo 2020 Dubai.
The 2020-2021 program will be 100% virtual and is open to high school students across the GCC region. Participating schools will select one or two teacher sponsors, who will be invited to a virtual workshop. At the workshop, they will receive all program materials and learn techniques for teaching students how to think and work like designers. The teacher sponsors will then virtually coach student teams as they design solutions for their clients.
The DIDI Project Design Space team, alongside DIDI faculty and staff, will also offer monthly virtual workshops for teachers and students throughout the program to support students.
Entry Requirement
Please read the following instructions before starting your application:
1. Prepare digital color copies of your:
Passport
High School Transcripts/Exam certificates from Grades 10, 11, and 12 (if available).
Passing Score in English Proficiency Exam (e.g. Academic IELTS, TOEFL IBT)
2. Write a personal statement of not more than 500 words describing your academic interests, your motivation for studying design, any previous design experience, your interests outside of the classroom, and your career aspirations.
3. If you have samples of your creative work that you would like to share, please include them in your online submission.
DIDI application decisions will be communicated within 1 to 2 weeks from receiving your completed application.
Fees
University tuition fees for the academic year 2020/21 are AED 98000 plus VAT inclusive of studio fees.
