Course Overview

To prepare a culturally diverse student body for successful professional careers grounded in strong engineering knowledge, a culture of innovation, and an awareness of the global societal, economic, and environmental contexts within which electrical engineering decisions are made.

The B.S. in Electrical Engineering produces professional and forward-thinking graduates through a solid education in electronics, signal processing, digital systems, and electromagnetics, as well as a broad range of electives in communication engineering and power systems.

The program is designed to ensure excellence in multiple technical areas within the broad field of electrical engineering, while emphasizing the role of general education, ethical and social responsibility, in addition to life-long learning in the personal and professional growth of future electrical engineers.

Entry Requirement 

Admission Requirements:

  • A high school/secondary school certificate or equivalent from an institution accredited by the Ministry of Education in the U.A.E. or by the relevant national or regional institutional accrediting body;
  • International TOEFL® or Academic IELTSTM or the equivalent score on another internationally-recognized English exam. PBT is accepted from specific centers in the UAE.
  • The University administers the ACCUPLACERTM Exam (Math) to place students at the appropriate mathematics level.

English Language Requirements:

English placement tests are required for admissions. If you have taken any international/national exams (TOEFL/IELTS/EMSAT/SAT), please submit them with your application for evaluation. AUD's international code for TOEFL® is C005.

  • Math Requirements: Applicants with an SAT score of 560 will be exempt from taking the Math Accuplacer™ exam, except for Engineering students. Architecture students with the above score may register directly in MATH105 (Precalculus for architecture), those willing to register in MATH 210 (Calculus for architecture), will have to sit for the AUD Accuplacer and test out of MATH105. AUD’s international code for SAT is 2688.

*ITP is accepted only from authorized and approved centers in UAE. Students should consult with the Admissions Office for further details.

Fees

Non-refundable application fee of AED 420. A reservation deposit (non-refundable) of AED 5000 which is fully applied toward tuition is required upon acceptance for admission.

A full balance of tuition is required at least one month prior to the beginning of the term.
