Course Overview

Objectives:

  1. Establishing the scientific research base at the university.
  2. Preparing legal cadres and competencies capable of outstanding performance and competition in the labor market, in order to serve and develop the community in the fields of scientific research and university teaching, and the like.
  3. Developing the capabilities of postgraduate students to follow scientific research methods and methods, following up on scientific and technological developments, and being familiar with the latest legal systems.
  4. Activating the comparative study of Gulf, Arab and international legislations in order to benefit from the experiences of different systems.
  5. Contribute to the efforts of Emiratisation in the various fields of legal work and support the efforts of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf in this regard.
  6. Providing distinguished study programs that stem from reality and benefit from global developments, taking into account the constants of society in general, and the Ajman network in particular.
  7. Establishing bridges of communication and interaction between the university and its law graduates and their counterparts who are graduates of other recognized universities.
  8. Saving time, effort and expenses incurred by the state and individuals to pursue higher education abroad.
  9. Opening the door for scientific and cultural cooperation and the exchange of experiences and knowledge with the corresponding law schools in various Arab and foreign universities

Entry Requirement 

Conditions for obtaining a master's degree in law:

  1. The student must have a bachelor’s degree or bachelor’s degree in law from a recognized law school, police, sharia, and law college, with a grade of at least very good (3 points out of four).
  2. As an exception, a student with a grade of less than (3 points) may be accepted conditional on obtaining a very good grade (3 points out of four) in the first nine academic hours.
  3. Obtaining a TOEFL certificate (450 marks at least), or an IELTS four-text certificate.
  4. For the student to achieve a score of 1100 in yesterday's exam in the Arabic language, provided that it is certified by the Ministry of Education in the United Arab Emirates, 

The following criteria must be observed in order to differentiate between eligible applicants to join the program so that priority is given to accept students according to the following criteria:

  • A - for the student with the highest grade according to the cumulative average of the bachelor's degree.
  • B- When the previous criterion is equal, priority is given to the highest-ranking student in the main bachelor's courses related to the specialization in which the student wishes to enroll, as follows:
  • Upon joining the master's program in public law, the main courses based on their assessments are constitutional law, administrative law, the general section in criminal law, and public international law.

As for when joining the master's program in private law, the main courses based on their assessments are sources of commitment, provisions of commitment, principles of commercial law, principles of pleading law.

Taking into account not considering the courses in which the student obtained a grade of less than good.

  • C- When the previous criterion is equal, priority is given to the student with the most professional experience in the field of legal work.
