In the UK, Labour/Conservative governments alike have addressed the need for institutional investment with measures/structures aimed at encouraging investment within real estate. However, institutional investment remains comparatively low, with buy-to-let being a fractured/cottage industry. Real Estate Investment Trust is a specialist area within Abertay, with academic staff having considerable professional experience within the asset management industry. Industry links are vital for relevant research within the sector, and Abertay is fortunate to employ staff who are active members of both the Society of Property Forecasters and are CFA charter holders.

Academic Requirements:
The minimum entry requirement for all our research degrees is an Upper Second Class Honours degree (or equivalent) at the undergraduate level in an appropriate discipline and/or a Master’s degree. In some cases, appropriate professional or experiential learning may be considered in combination with a lower classification of Honours degree.
English Language Requirements:
If you're not from the European Economic Area (EEA) and/or Switzerland, you may need to apply for a visa. If your first language is not English or your undergraduate/Master’s degree was not taught in English, you are also required to hold a suitable English language certificate.
